Let me tell you a story. I'm going to the store to buy the new Broken Social Scene album at my local record shop and I go in and look around, after picking up a copy of the BSS record. The lady at the register changes the music playing in the store, and puts in this fantastic sounding electronic album which instantly catches my attention. I'm trying to figure out what she's playing but she didn't have anything in the usual "NOW PLAYING" cd holder. I later ask her as I'm paying for my music, "what is this playing?" She answers, "Ladytron!"

"Oh yea, I've heard of them," I think to myself. I should really just buy it and take the chance, but I had just bought 4 CDs and wasn't really wanting to spend another 10-15 dollars on another record. But I went home and downloaded the new record and after 2 listens through, I was hooked. I ended up buying the record a couple days later and haven't stopped listneing to this wonderful gem of an album.

Ladytron is a 3 piece outfit from the UK which blends in the best of europop, electronica, and shoegazer-like rock into one awesome dancey pop album. The incredibly house-dancey "Destroy Everything You Touch" is a floor-filler, while the awesome beats of "International Dateline" get me everytime.

"Sugar" shows off the power of the shoegaze, with very Kevin Shields-like atmosphere. But it's also very similar to Garbage's new song, "Right Between the Eyes."

If you're looking for a wonderful dance album, you can look no further than this release. Ladytron's history should be enough to buy this album alone, but their expansions into a rockier sound is very promising.
