Disco house is back, and finally hitting state-side in a great way! Well, Kylie Minogue may have done it a few years back but never has a international super star such as Madonna dare try to do it in the United States... Co-Producing her newest album along with UK's Stuart Price, the latest Madonna record, Confessions on a Dance Floor hits the club with a massive attack.

The opening track, and first single, "Hung Up" features snippets from ABBA and is easily one of the most accessible songs on the record, although not nearly the best. The second track really shows the greatness of the genre. "Get Together" features great vocals, lyrics and energy from the pop queen, and also has a production that rivals much of the house music coming out of the club scenes of UK, Holland, and Germany.

Madonna has always been given credit as an innovator, which is probably more credit than she deserves, but in many ways is still very valid. While her music is nothing new to the rest of the world, it's always been a "new" sound for the North American crowd, and it brings freshness to radio and MTV, and in a very positive way, though it sort of is 5 years dated. In any case, this album is a giant leap forward from her last and very poor record, American Life.

It's exciting that this could be the first real opportunity that a sensational dance floor filler genre hits the United States. Maybe it'll get rid of all that crap on the club floors (aka 50 cent, Ludacris, Nelly, Usher, etc.) and bring in real club music on the dance floor. But that's just my opinion.

Let the music speak for itself.
